about

The 2011 edition of this compilation collected the live tracks recorded at three of the four Tinty Music live performances during 1996–1997, plus an alternate version of 'Refraction grid' recorded during a live run-through with Vincent Booth.

This 2014 edition, which replaces the 2011 edition, has been completely re-mastered. The five 'Anomaly' tracks, which were originally recorded to cassette under less-than-ideal conditions, have been cleaned up considerably (though a couple of analogue artifacts may still be apparent). The track listing has been expanded to include two excerpts from another piece recorded during the live run-through that produced the version of 'Refraction grid' found here.

Quotes from reviews of the original cassettes:

Anomaly [tracks 1–6 in this collection]
"…by far the best release by Tinty Music to date…" —Sonic Boom Magazine

Live at Anomalous Records 31 May 1997 [tracks 7 & 8]
"…an adventure in sound collage. […] The soundscapes evolve slowly, giving the careful listener a sense of exploration. The overall result is some good late-night headphone music." —Swami Loopynanda, AUTOreverse (#6)

Fabricating sounds since 1987. Unafraid to rush headlong into obscurity for the sake of art and making sense out of the world. Folds, spindles, and mutilates as needed. Brickwalling not allowed.
