about

Digital download version of the original 1996 cassette.

I usually hate it when artists mess with material they've already released (separate remixes aside), but I felt the material would benefit from editing (which I would have done at the time, had I had the means to do so). The result is a more concise album that I think will hold up better than the original has.

Quotes from reviews of the original cassette:

"Tinty Music once again invades the nether realms of the sleep depraved [sic] and thrusts the listener into yet another voyeuristic journey through found sound ambient textures." —Jester, Sonic Boom (#4.0)

"Minimal sound paintings that whisper or swell, an insect or an orchestra. […] Often emotionally affecting in the way that music should be." —C. Reider, AUTOreverse (#2)

"…the tape you sent does not contain music." —May 6, 1996 letter from The US Copyright Office

about

Tinty Music Bellingham, Washington

Fabricating sounds since 1987. Unafraid to rush headlong into obscurity for the sake of art and making sense out of the world. Folds, spindles, and mutilates as needed. Brickwalling not allowed.
