about

A new collection of material from the Tinty Music archives.

'The meaning of shame' and 'Our hidden shame' are related pieces composed and recorded while contemplating the subject of shame—some two decades before it became TED talk-worthy material.

'Repercussions' was the last of the 'multi-part opuses' recorded from 1991 to 1994.

'The possibility arises' is an early Tokyo recording that exploits a synthesizer design quirk to moody effect.

Unlike much of the later material released under the Tinty Music banner (and notwithstanding some storm-like effects in 'Repercussion'), these pieces are strictly musical, and deliberately composed.

'The meaning of shame' and 'The possibility arises' were originally included as part of the withdrawn The Learning Curve series of CD-Rs in 1999; otherwise, all tracks here were previously unreleased.

about

Tinty Music Bellingham, Washington

Fabricating sounds since 1987. Unafraid to rush headlong into obscurity for the sake of art and making sense out of the world. Folds, spindles, and mutilates as needed. Brickwalling not allowed.
