Excerpts from Weightlessness: Of Contemplation and Distraction

about

This two-minute representation of the Weightlessness CD was produced by the folks at Artist Direct for the sampler CD they made to promote the initial group of artists whose work they were distributing.

I knew they were working on a sampler, but I had assumed they'd just use 'Another brief manic phase' or 'In a funk'—you know, something more uptempo. Instead, they edited together this interesting little mishmash of 'Mind the gap', 'Weightlessness', the unlisted 'Prelude', and what was then titled 'It came crashing'.

I wasn't thrilled that they hadn't asked me first, but, all things considered, I thought they did a pretty good job of representing the moodier aspects of the disc.

(Naturally, I forgot about this little gem while going through the tracks and preparing this version—which is why there's no mention of it in the PDF booklet.)
