by Tinty Music

Originally released in 1997 as part of the double cassette Wood Block Compilation released by Sound Probe Recordings. Packaged as two cassettes (one black, one white) bound to a block of wood, the compilation included tracks by Diagram: A, Tinty Music (as Tinty Music Noise Unit), Dog, Dyslexis Coup, Proof of the Shooting…, Aube, Seth Misterka, and MSBR.

'Gotanda-eki~Shibuya-eki~Ekimae' was my contribution to the project. I pieced it together in November 1996 from recordings I had made on my own, a solo remix session of a student project with Interference Patterns, and sounds for a collaboration with :YAU:. The name of the piece came about because its length felt to be about that of the train ride from Gotanda to Shibuya on Tokyo's Yamanote line.

For this digital download, I have trimmed 10 seconds from the transition between the two main sections, and slightly boosted the gain of the first section. No other alterations have been made.
