about

The second Tinty Music cassette release of 1996.

Solidly in the improvisation/noise camp, Sublimation was recorded in October 1995, with the entirety of side B (tracks 3 through 8 of this edition) recorded in a burst of activity over the course of a single day.

A 1999 edition and a 2006 '10th anniversary' edition both restored 'Dreamslip' to its full length; both were scrapped because the resulting running order no longer worked. However, the 2006 edition was eventually made available for download via the now-defunct social media site Multiply.

This digital download edition replicates the running order from the original cassette, and adds the unabridged version of 'Dreamslip' as an extra track.

Quotes from reviews of the original cassette:

"'Meprobamate' reminds me of sitting in a car going through a car wash, rolling, cascading sheets of noise that hum past like machinery." —Ian, AUTOreverse (#2)

"…spontaneous vector changes…a whirlwind array of sound collages and doppler effect ripples…" —Jester, Sonic Boom (#4.1)
